Osbeck). ‘Moro’ is the most pigmented blood orange, due to the high content of anthocyanins. The ‘Moro’ variety is believed to have originated at the beginning of the 19th century in Sicily. The phytocomplex contained in Moro juice, unlike other orange varieties, has been shown to possess a high content of anthocyanins with an important activity against fat accumulation.*
