Bloating is your stomach's way of turning a normal day into a "why do I suddenly look like I'm carrying a bowling ball in my pants?" situation. Even as a Dietitian, I'm not immune – bloating finds a way to put a damper on my day, too. On those days, fast relief is necessary. Apart from resorting to hibernation tactics, the right bloating supplement could really take the pressure off.
The best supplement for bloating hits the mark in all areas – symptom fit, science-backed formulas, quality ingredients and transparency, and a format you'll actually take. At the end of the day, the best bloating supplement isn't the most popular one, it's the one that aligns with your specific symptoms, habits, and gut needs. Here's a comparison of five top supplements for bloating and how to choose the best one for you.
What is bloating?
Bloating is caused by a buildup of gas in the digestive tract. It's often related to poor digestion or an imbalance of healthy gut bacteria – both of which can be addressed with diet and supplementation. Here's what to look for when choosing a supplement for bloating.
-
Ingredient type: Supplements to relieve bloating often contain a singular ingredient or a combination. The most common debloating ingredient types include probiotics, enzymes, and herbals, each offering a different benefit. Probiotics are live microorganisms that improve gut health. Digestive enzymes help the body digest and break down food for better absorption. Herbal ingredients for bloating mostly act by relieving gas and soothing the digestive system.
-
Strain specificity: Your specific needs should determine which product you take home. Using a supplement that lacks the strain or ingredient specific to your symptoms is like having a key that works, but not for your door. You've spent money on a product that may or may not have an impact. Understanding which strains and ingredients may help reduce bloating will help you narrow down your choices.
-
Clinical evidence: When seeking clinical evidence supporting probiotic strains, digestive enzymes, or herbs, choose ingredients that have been shown to be beneficial in randomized controlled human trials (RCTs). RCTs provide the strongest evidence that the ingredient caused the health benefit, not external factors.
-
Prebiotic inclusion: Prebiotics are carbohydrates that feed gut-friendly bacteria, helping increase the population of good bacteria that reside in your digestive tract.
-
Format and intended use: Supplements for bloating are available in various formats, including chewable tablets, gummies, powders, liquids, and capsules. Some products are designed for daily support, while others are intended for as-needed relief.

Lemme Debloat
Lemme's approach to bloating bypasses the enzyme-and-herbal combination commonly seen on shelves and instead aligns with a 3-in-1 probiotic for bloating. Debloat is designed to support gut health by populating the microbiome with friendly bacteria that ward off pathogens.
Debloat uses Lactospore®, a clinically studied lactic acid producing probiotic strain of Bacillus coagulans that may help combat the growth of harmful bacteria in the digestive tract. Bacillus subtilis DE111® then populates the microbiome where it has been shown to exert beneficial effects on gut health and your immune system.
Once you have a flourishing gut community, you'll need to feed it to keep it thriving. Lemme's Debloat 3-in-1 formula keeps neighbors happy and well-fed with the addition of XOS (xylooligosaccharides) – a functional prebiotic that has been shown to nourish the healthy balance of gut bacteria.
Debloat is available in both gummy and capsule formats. The gummies make taking supplements an enjoyable experience and have proven to be as effective as other formats.
Lemme Debloat capsules encompass everything the gummies have to offer in an easy-to-digest format, and with the addition of DigeSEB® – a well-studied digestive enzyme blend that helps break down hard to digest foods. The body's natural supply of enzymes isn't guaranteed. DigeSEB® fills in the gaps with a powerful dose of amylase, lactase, lipase, cellulase, and protease, which break down protein, carbohydrates, fiber, fat, and milk sugar, leading to less gas and bloating after eating.
Choose Lemme Debloat If:
-
You value clinically-studied ingredients shown to work
-
You want to address the root cause of your gas and bloating
-
You want a natural approach to digestive support
-
You value products with clean label and non-GMO certifications
-
You want to feel excited about the supplements in your stack
-
You're looking for a long-term solution with results you can feel
-
You love supplement gummies that taste like candy and actually work
HUM Flatter Me
HUM's Flatter Me is a full-spectrum enzyme blend that utilizes beta-glucanase, an enzyme that helps break down fiber from vegetables and carbohydrates, to alleviate gas and bloating.
The remaining digestive enzymes in Flatter Me's formula assist in the breakdown and digestion of protein, carbohydrates, fat, and milk sugar. All of which are important and especially beneficial for people who bloat immediately after a meal.
While their RCT study's reported 2-inch post-meal belly bloat reduction is encouraging, its small sample size (just 20 participants) and manufacturer involvement limit its credibility. Not to mention, their formula lacks important probiotics and prebiotics that support gut health.
Choose HUM Flatter Me If:
-
You struggle with bloating after eating certain foods
-
You value products with clean label and non-GMO certifications
-
You like options. HUM has an extra strength version for people who need more support.
Love Wellness Bye Bye Bloat
Love Wellness Bye Bye Bloat leans heavily on digestive enzymes to relieve bloating, combined with herbal extracts, specifically organic parsley leaf powder and dandelion root powder, to combat water retention. Their proprietary blend packs nearly triple the ingredients dose of HUM Flatter Me—impressive at first glance, but it’s unclear whether any are underdosed. On the other hand, Bye Bye Bloat was third-party tested, albeit in a study with only 30 participants, and showed an improvement in post-meal bloating and belly discomfort.
Bye Bye Bloat may very well be a solid anti-bloat option, but I suspect the mechanism of action is more in line with a natural diuretic than truly solving your gut problems. And it's worth noting that prebiotics and probiotics, two important nutrients for gut health, are missing from this bloating supplement.
Choose Love Wellness Bye Bye Bloat If:
-
You struggle with extra water retention, especially around your period
-
You value products that have been third-party tested
-
You're fine with taking a product daily over time to see results
Arrae Bloat
Arrae Bloat promises you can enjoy your favorite foods without regret. Few people can honestly make that claim these days. A quarter of the world's population regularly experiences gas, pain, and bloating. For those people, opportunities to enjoy foods they love are few and far between.
Bloat contains bromelain, a pineapple-based digestive enzyme that accelerates protein digestion, so it makes its way through the intestines without an opportunity for fermentation. A proprietary herbal blend rounds out their formula, and helps to reduce puffiness and water retention within an hour after eating.
Ginger is a well-known remedy for nausea and upset stomach. Arrae Bloat includes organic ginger extract (220 mg) to soothe the digestive system. People who want soothing relief may appreciate Arrae's approach; however, I'm not sure the formula is a good reflection of its premium price point, especially since it doesn't include any probiotics or prebiotics. Plus, it's the most expensive product in my comparison.
Choose Arrae Bloat If:
-
You are looking for a way to soothe your tummy after eating
-
You need digestive support for specific nutrients
-
You're interested in trying a product at a more premium price point
-
You want to go back to eating the foods you love
Olly Beat the Bloat
As a Dietitian, I appreciate supplement companies like Olly, who have clear and transparent labeling. Beat the Bloat is no exception – the dose of each ingredient in their balanced enzyme and herbal blend is no secret.
However, even after digging into the research, I still can't pinpoint the effective dose for each digestive enzyme and several of the herbal extracts listed on the label. With the exception of ginger root extract, where the researched dose is at least double what's in Beat the Bloat. Sure, Olly gets a gold star for label transparency, but if I can’t tell whether these products actually hit the mark on dosing standards, making a smart choice feels like a shot in the dark.
Olly Beat the Bloat offers decent digestive support, but it may fall short for comprehensive bloating relief. Without prebiotics, probiotics, and with uncertain doses, it means this supplement still has some holes to fill.
Choose Olly Beat the Bloat If:
-
You already love Olly products and want to try their anti-bloat formula
-
Budget is important to you; they're the cheapest on our list, but not by much
-
You value transparency in product labeling
-
You are looking for relief of occasional gas and bloating after a meal
Takeaway
As a Dietitian, my standard for any supplement recommendation is simple: does the science back it up? After evaluating these five products against that bar, Lemme Debloat is my top pick. Lemme Debloat Gummies and Lemme Debloat Capsules both fill the microbiome with science-backed microorganisms and keep them well-fed with prebiotic fiber. The capsules go one step further, adding digestive enzymes for accelerated relief. HUM, Love Wellness, Arrae, and Olly each offer some form of symptom relief — but none address gut health at the root. Lemme Debloat is the only supplement in this comparison built to repopulate, nourish, and support your microbiome long-term.
The best bloating supplement depends on if you're looking for fast relief, microbiome support, or a combination of both. As with any change to your diet or supplement routine, be sure to consult your healthcare professional first.
